Dear vessel of contradictions, I honor you in your wholeness today.
To my mind
Thank me for the cascade of ideas that light paths unknown,
For visions that paint tomorrow in bold strokes of possibility.
I offer grace to my circular thoughts,
To the doubts that anchor my feet when I long to fly.
Both my spark and shadow shape my journey.
To my body
Thank me for each morning I rise,
For muscles that remember how to scamper down subway stairs,
For bones that have carried me through decades.
I offer grace to my slowing steps,
To joints that whisper, "not today,"
To the wisdom in my gentle decline.
You teach me patience in my changing.
To my soul
Thank me for my relentless seeking,
For refusing to settle in comfortable shadows,
For recognizing the truth in new temples.
I offer grace to my wandering from familiar prayers,
To the empty spaces between beliefs,
To this holy uncertainty.
My questioning is my own kind of faith.

A being of thought and flesh and spirit,
Perfect in my imperfection,
